Loader.io is a hosted HTTP and HTTPS load testing service. You register a target host, prove that you control it, select a test type in the browser, and run traffic from the service. The three models are clients per test, clients per second, and maintained client load. This is intentionally a small surface area. It is designed for a quick endpoint or web application check, not a detailed multi protocol performance program.
The target verification step is important. It prevents an account from pointing traffic at an arbitrary public site, but it also means the tool is most convenient when you can add a verification file, DNS record, or another approved signal to the target environment.
What you get
The free plan is concrete: one target host, up to 10,000 clients per test, one minute tests, and two URLs per test. That is enough to reveal an obvious capacity issue on a simple endpoint. Pro is USD 99.95 per month and raises the limits to 100,000 clients per test, ten minute tests, ten URLs per test, and advanced analytics. Tests run from Amazon's US East data center, so location is part of the interpretation.
The API can create and run tests after a target has been verified. That gives a small CI integration path, although the service is more comfortable as a manual pre release check than as a deeply versioned test suite. The charts are easy to read for a first result and response code failures are visible without extra infrastructure.
Where it falls short
There is no general purpose scripting layer for correlation, test data, custom clients, or a business workflow with complex branching. HTTP and HTTPS are the only catalog protocols. If the service needs WebSocket, gRPC, database, messaging, or browser behavior, this is the wrong starting point. Public US East execution can also be misleading when users or systems are elsewhere.
The free tier is deliberately short. I would use it to validate an idea, then decide whether the paid limits are enough before making it a release gate. A test that only hits two URLs for one minute can confirm basic headroom, but it cannot establish durable capacity for an application with authentication, cache warmup, and realistic data.
